Lokmanya Mahavidyalaya, Warora, Dist. Chandrapur (ESTD-1998)
Lokmanya Mahavidyalaya, is the latest addition to the institutional fabric of Lok Shikshan Sanstha. Prior to the establishment of the Mahavidyalaya, there were other colleges in the town which were providing higher education to the young boys & girls. But they were either too far from the main township or ill-equipped to measure up to the expectations of the young enthusiasts. Naturally, there was need of a senior college within the limits of easy access, and which could provide quality education to the youngsters. Lok ShiksanSanstha, therefore, decided to set up Lokmanya Mahavidyalaya, preferably, for the girls so that they could have a college at a comfortably reachable distance. Of course, the Mahavidyalaya, imparts co-education, but it proves quite suitable for the weaker gender, so far existing at the margins.
Though still in its adolescence, the college qualified to be a permanent affiliate of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur in 2009. After bifurcation of Nagpur University, the college is now affiliated to the recently established Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. It is a matter of great satisfaction that the college has recognition of University Grants Commission under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of U.G.C.Act, 1956. Moreover, it has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC),Bangalore.
Under the exceptionally proficient stewardship of Prof. Shrikant Patil, President, Lok Shikshan Sanstha, Warora, and Shri Shrikrisnaji Ghadyalapatil and Dr. Milind Deshpande, the two secretaries, Lok Shikshan Sanstha, Warora, college has been taking leap forward into the realms of pedagogy. There are still “miles to go”.
