About Library

Lokmanyamahavidyalaya library came into existence on 1998 with the establishment of LokmanyaMahavidyalaya.  The Mahavidyalaya is located at Warora in Chandrapur district (Maharashtra).  Library reading room known in honor of the SudhataiSainis.

The library has rich collection on Humanity, Social Science.  It covers Books, Reference Books, Journals, Reports back holding of Journals, Question Papers.

Membership

The membership of the library is open for the Lok Shikshan Sanstha’s Authorities, Officers, Heads & teachers of departments; Non-teaching employees of the college.

Terms & Conditions of Membership

  1. The duration of membership shall be One Year and shall have to be renewal every year except for temporary membership where the duration shall be of side months.
  2. Any change of Address during the validity of the membership should be notified in writing by the member of the librarian.

Refund of Membership Deposit

  1. The deposit of a member shall not be refunded unless he clears of all the dues.
  2. The membership deposit, if remained unclaimed for more than two years will not be returned and will be transferred to Time-Based library Deposit.

Library Rules

General Rules

  1. A person entering the library shall record his/her name, membership number & address in the register maintained for the purpose at the entrance counter.
  2. The staff member of the library at the entrance is authorized to examine everything that passes into or out of the library.
  3. Talking,   chewing pan, spitting, eating food, sleeping, smoking or any behavior which would disturb other readers or the discipline of the library is strictly prohibited.
  4. The librarian shall have the power to suspend the use of the ticket and card of any member or to refuse admission to any one, informing any rule of the library and/or to suspend or cancel the use of the Borrows Ticket and Reading Room card of any member.

Conditions of Loan

  1. The period of loan of books shall be one week.
  2. A member may enroll membership only under any one of the categories mentioned in the category of membership.
  3. Following types of books shall not be lent out of the library.
    1. Reference books
    1. Books marked as “rare” or “Reserved” Books.
    1. Syllabus, Question papers, Electronic collection.
  4. When there is any increase in demand of a particular book or books, the Librarian may regulated the use of such book in such a manner as he considers proper
  5. The Librarian may at any time recall any book before the expiry of the period for which it was loaned and the borrower shall comply with such a requisition.
  6. Only one renewal in any case will be permitted.

Late fee

  1. A member who keeps a book beyond the date on which it is returnable shall be required to pay a late fee of Rs. 1/- per day per volume.
  2. If a borrower fails to pay the late fee within a period of one month from the date it become due, the same shall be deducted from his library deposit.  His membership is liable to be cancelled after such deduction.

Damage & Loss of Books

  1. Every member taking a book out of the library and every reader within the library shall be responsible for tis safe custody and shall return it to the Library Attend.
  2. In the events of its being lost or damaged, he shall either replace it or pay the cost of replacement.  If a book is “Rare” one, he shall be required to pay such compensation as the Librarian may think proper.
  3. Reader shall not write upon, damage, tear of the leaves or make any mark either in pencil or ink upon any book, manuscript or map belonging to the library, not shall they key the paper on which they are writing upon any book, map or manuscript.  The erasure of any mark or map belongs observing a defect in or damage to any book or manuscript shall bring it to the notice of the librarian.
  4. No tracing and no copying of any map or manuscript shall be done without the permission of the librarian.
  5. In case of a book belonging to a set or series is lost or damaged by a member and a new volume is not separately available, the whole set or series shall have to be replaced by the borrower.
  6. Before leaving the counter the borrower should immediately point out any mutilations in the book to library.   Attend on duty or otherwise the borrower shall be held responsible for replacement of the book or payment of such compensation as may be fixed by the librarian.

Unauthorized removal of Books

Such action shall be taken against a person for unauthorized removed of the books or other property of the library committee in its next meeting the action taken in this regard.

UGC’s country wide class room and IGNOU’s programs were acquired by the library users may contact the college library.  Landing and reference section for use of these materials.

Career Literature

The college library is paying special attention in building-up career literate and guides for various competitive examinations.  Competitive periodicals are also being added to the collection of college library for the benefit of users.
