Patron: Lok Shikshan Sanstha:

Lok Shikshan Sanstha, Warora, Dist. Chandrapur (M.S.), now a prime establishment devoted to the cause of creative exuberance of the young minds, came into being in 1951 on the auspicious day of ‘Vijayadashmi’.Warora, a tehshil place in the Chandrapur district, carries on the load and legacy of an undeveloped district of tribal inhabitants. In spite of the availability of rich ores and minerals and a wealth of dense forestry, Chandrapur had lagged behind somewhere at the margins while the rest of the state was pacing fast to cope-up with the newly instilled confidence of the nation. On academic map the entire district had no presence because of illiteracy and primitive ways of life. Moreover, Warora, with a village-like existence, had its own limitations in the run-up for academic adventures. It is true, Gandhian ethos had penetrated deep into the soil. In addition, Waroa has a legacy of political and social activism. But, couple of gems could not bathe the entire populace with glow and glamour Warora had continued to suffer at the margins. Poverty and illiteracy had been acting as the decelerating agent in the growth of Warora as a civilized entity.

India had recently got political freedom, and it had integrated look at least on the surface. Newly got freedom had infused a desire among the people to grow as a self-sustained nation. Warora, though far from the civilized hubbub of the big cities, could not remain insulated from the emerging sense of confidence and co-operation. Hence, some enthusiasts of the town who had been craving for social uplift and faith in education as tool of positive change came together. And Lok Shikshan Sanstha breathed out as a vibrant seat of creativity. The Sanstha decided to set up educational institutions with the objective to provide a tool for the refinement of the inner faculties of youngsters. Emerging out of the ashes, these enthusiasts faced challenges but they did not crumble under pushes and pressures of life. With no building of its own and without proper structure, they started Lokmanya Vidyalaya in 1951. It was a school of different kind, and it proved to be a centre of educational excellence merely because of the devotion of the members of the Managerial Set-up, teaching fraternity, and the assisting staff.

The Sanstha stretched out its wings to float across the highs and lows of pedagogical system. Lokmanya Girls High School opened up its gates for the local girls to initate them into the realms of letters and literacy in 1959. Since its very inception, Girls School (Kanya Vidyalaya) has been churning out professionals and sportspersons of global repute from the assemblage of mediocre-looking girls. In order to guarantee quality inflow to the Girls and Boys High Schools, the Sanstha set up Prathamik Vidyalaya (Primary School) in 1964. All the three wings run simultaneously in adjoining buildings in the same premises. Hence, within fifteen years of its existence the Sanstha carved out a niche for itself as facilitator of quality education. Lokmanya Mahavidyalaya, established in 1998, is comparatively a newly born education centre. Lokmanya Shishu Mandir, Lokmanya English Medium School, and Lokmanya Kala Academy are other bright feathers making the parent body more attractive and more glamorous in its look and activity.
